LinkedIn is announcing the 50 best companies to work for in the 2021 census, based on platform data

LinkedIn posted its own today 2021. a list of the 50 best companies to work for, based on a number of factors, including company stability, available opportunities and gender diversity, among others.

Which isn’t overly interesting in the context of social media – but what’s interesting here is exactly how LinkedIn evaluated each element, which highlights another way LinkedIn is increasingly using its unparalleled professional data set improve career outcomes and highlight opportunities.

As he explained LinkedIn, The top 50 list takes into account seven key factors that are all based on LinkedIn data:

  • Ability to progress monitors employee progress within the company and when they move to a new company, based on standardized job titles
  • Skills growth looks at how company employees acquire skills while they are company employees, using standardized LinkedIn skills
  • Company stability monitors the departure from service during the past year, as well as the percentage of employees who remain in the company for at least three years
  • External opportunity looks at the reach of LinkedIn Recruiters among employees in the company, signaling the demand for workers coming from those companies
  • Company affinity seeks to measure support for company culture by observing the amount of links on LinkedIn among employees (controlled by company size)
  • Gender diversity measures gender parity within the company and its subsidiaries
  • Education examines the diversity of educational achievements among employees, from degrees to PhDs. levels, reflecting a commitment to hiring a wide range of professionals

INBased on these elements, LinkedIn has established the 50 best companies – which is in fact the top 50 list of the best companies on LinkedIn, taking into account these various actions.

Which, again, is an interesting use of LinkedIn data, highlighting the many ways in which such insights can be helpful and can help LinkedIn users toward relevant, sustainable career paths.

Based on this, for example, students could assess new opportunities and map paths to more sustainable, useful career opportunities. Companies could look at the same factors and assess their own processes by examining the data available to them, with an overall perspective that could potentially help improve access to employee retention and development, based solely on insight into LinkedIn.

As such, the list itself may not be as interesting as the methodology and lessons available in it. But still, it’s worth considering the entire list, while LinkedIn also posted regional variations to highlight brands in your nation.

In the US, the 10 best companies, as determined by LinkedIn, are:

  1. Amazon
  2. Alphabet
  3. JP Morgan and Chase
  4. AT&T
  5. American bank
  6. IBM
  7. Deloitte
  8. Apple
  9. Walmat
  10. EY

Some will no doubt discuss the list, but again, you can evaluate the above methodology and work out how it applies to each case.
