sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky. again Dr. Anthony Fauci when explaining his Justice Department reference against him on Fox News.
On Wednesday, Senator Rand Paul spoke on “The Story with Martha MacCallum” to discuss his request for a Justice Department investigation against Fauci for his conduct during a Senate hearing.
Discussing this, Paul openly claimed that Fauci was covering up any relationship he had about gain-of-function research in a Wuhan lab believed to be the origin of the COVID-19 virus.
“Well, I think it’s important to know that Dr. Fauci has a self-interest in covering up any relationship or responsibility for anything that’s done in the Wuhan lab,” Paul said. “The evidence we presented to the committee yesterday shows without a doubt that the NIH funded research in Wuhan. We showed the exact numerical sequence of numbers associated with the grant numbers. So yes, they funded the Wuhan lab.”
RAND PAUL SAYS HE WILL ASK DOJ FOR ‘CRIMINAL REFERRAL’ ON FAUCI TESTIMONY
Paul also explained the definition of gain-of-function research as he did during Tuesday’s Senate hearing.
“This is undoubtedly what happened in the Wuhan lab. We have some professors who have said that,” he noted.
sen. Paul and Fauci also spar at a previous Senate hearing, continuing an ongoing feud. Each man accused the other of lying about their previous statements, while Fauci continued to deny that American money had gone into financing the Wuhan lab, despite Paul’s evidence.
“I have never lied to Congress and I am not withdrawing that statement,” Fauci said.
“You dance around it because you’re trying to cover up the responsibility,” Paul claimed.
This interaction led Paul to announce his plans on Tuesday to request a criminal referral for Fauci from the Justice Department.
“I’ll be sending a letter to the Justice Department requesting a criminal referral for lying to Congress. We’ve got scientists lined up by the dozen to say that the research he funded was either profit or loss.” -function,” Paul announced.
However, Paul told “The Story” that he is pessimistic that the DOJ will act on his referral.
“I assume they will behave in a very biased manner and they will not pursue this,” he said.
Still, he continued to criticize Fauci, as well as leftist networks that refuse to question his involvement in gain-of-function research.
“Right now, Fauci is getting away with this because no one is questioning him. He only goes on left-wing networks that give him easy questions like, ‘Ha-ha-ha, isn’t Rand Paul out there like that?’ Those are the kinds of questions he gets. Nobody asks him why it’s not an advantage of job research,” said Paul.

Martha MacCallum also reminded Paul that there was a ban on gain-of-function research, which may explain the different definition of the research by Fauci and the National Institute of Health.
“People need to understand that there is a self-interest in saving for Dr. Fauci not to be associated with the Wuhan lab,” Paul explained.
