When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped away from royal life in early 2020, they initially stayed close to their struggles within their family.
In recent months, however, they have begun to speak much more – especially Harry – of both affirmative and crushing rumors about his ravines with his father Prince Charles and brother Prince William.
News broke Monday that the 36-year-old royal is ready to publish a memoir next year that will likely expand what he has shared about the family, most of which comes from his bomb interview with Oprah Winfrey as well as his appearance on his Apple TV + -series, “The Me You Can’t See.”
As the two continue to build their media empire, here’s a look at what Prince Harry has said about his royal relatives since stepping down from his duties to the Crown.

Harry and Markle, 39, did not talk much about their decision to resign from royal life until almost a year after doing so.
Lawsuits and a handful of public statements suggested they traveled because of intense media coverage and criticism of Markle.
In March 2021, however, they sat down with Winfrey, 67, to share their experience in detail.
During the discussion, Harry Winfrey recounted that he felt trapped by royal life and was surprised that he was cut off financially and lost his security last year. He also said he felt his family did not support Markle

Harry admitted that he also “went to a very dark place” when Markle felt suicidal, and was hesitant to talk to his family about the problem.
He added that he is “very aware” of the fact that his family is “afraid” that the British tabloids will turn against them, pointing out that some tabloids are crooked with the crown.
The royal said his relationship with his father has been damaged, that there is “a lot to work through” and that he felt “really let down” by Charles.
In response to a question from Winfrey, Harry said he would not have left royal life if not for his wife. He said their relationship revealed the rigor of royal life.
“I would not have been able to do that because I was trapped myself,” Harry said. “I did not see a way out.
“I was trapped, but I did not know I was trapped,” Harry said, adding, “My father and my brother, they are trapped.”
Harry acknowledged that he does not currently have a close relationship with his brother William, who is heir to the throne after their father.

He also disputed rumors that he deliberately dazzled his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, with his decision to split. He suspects the rumors came from the institution.
“I never judged my grandmother,” he said. “I have too much respect for her.”
“Me, you can not see”
Not long after the interview aired, Apple released TV + “The Me You Can’t See”, a series produced by and featuring appearances by Harry and Winfrey. It focused on mental health, which has played a major role in the king’s life.
During an episode of the show, Harry claimed that his family turned a blind eye as he reached out for help regarding media coverage and criticism of his relationship with Markle.
“I thought my family would help, but every request, request, warning, whatever, it’s just been met with total silence, total neglect,” Harry revealed. “We spent four years making it work. We did everything we could to stay there and keep performing the role and doing the job. But Meghan struggled.”
In addition, he claimed that his family was trying to stop his royal exit.
“Eventually when I made this decision for my family, I was still told, ‘You can not do this,'” Harry revealed. to do this? “She [Markle] had to end his life. It should not have to come to that. “

He also opened up about how he was treated by Charles.
“My father used to say to me when I was younger …” Well, it was like that for me, so it’s going to be like that for you, “the prince said to Winfrey in an episode.
The father of two said Charles expected Harry and William to agree to live under the same pressure as he “does not make sense.”
“Just because you suffered does not mean that your children will suffer, in fact the opposite. If you suffered, do everything you can to make sure that no matter what negative experiences you had, you can do the right thing for your children, ”he added.
In May, Harry appeared on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast, scolding his father’s parenting style and saying that their strained father-son relationship arose due to Charles’ own upbringing.
