According to sources, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will pay a two-day visit to India from July 27 to 28.
Sources familiar with the details of the visit told ANI that Blinken is also likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his fellow Foreign Minister S Jaishankar.
It has been learned that preparations for the high-level visit are underway.
Jaishankar and Blinken had already met three times in the past year. After US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin’s visit to India, this will be the second high-profile visit by the member of the Biden administration.
The US had provided aid to India as it struggled with the deadly second wave of coronavirus, the Biden administration intervened personally to accelerate the sourcing of raw materials for the Indian vaccine maker, and had sent ventilators and other anti-Covid equipment.
Recovery from Covid situation, vaccines, worsening security scenario in Afghanistan and China are expected to be on the agenda.
