The bodies of seven people from a missing boat on Lake Tana have been recovered. According to a state media report, the bodies were recovered Monday after a challenging search by divers and lifeboats.
However, most of the bodies were found on the shores of the lake in the Gorgoga and Adisge district.
Cherenet Asmare, deputy district police commander, said they were found early Monday morning.
A search is still underway to recover the bodies of six more people.
On Friday, 13 passengers with potato loads disappeared. It was around midnight when the boat left the departure point. The distance between the destination (Gorgora) and the departure point (Adisge) was only 15 kilometers.
Police could not say what caused the accident, which killed 13 people.
