Based on the Price Monitoring Survey (SPH) up to week III, MH Thamrin estimates inflation in July 2021 at 0.01% compared to the previous month (month to month/mtm). This makes inflation throughout 2021 (year to date/ytd) to 0.75% and annual inflation (year on year/yoy) of 1.45%.
“The main contributors to inflation in July 2021 to the third week are cayenne pepper at 0.03% (mtm), tomatoes, kale, onions, spinach, garter and filtered kretek cigarettes at 0.01% (mtm) each. , including chicken meat at -0.08% (mtm), chicken eggs at -0.03% (mtm), gold jewelry at -0.02% (mtm), oranges at -0.02% (mtm), red peppers and potatoes -0.01% (mtm) each,” according to BI’s written statement.
Citing data from the Strategic Food Price Information Center (PIHPS), the price of red cayenne pepper as of July 16, 2021 is IDR 71,100/kg. Compared to the position at the end of June, an increase of 6.92%.
The price of green cayenne pepper also increased, but was softer. On July 16, 2021, the price of this commodity was 46,900 IDR/kg, an increase of 1.19% compared to the end of last month.
Then the price of shallots at the end of last week was quoted at Rp 32,700/kg. Up 3.15% from the position at the end of June.
In fact, it has been observed that the price of rice has fallen. On July 16, 2021, the national average price of this raw material is IDR 11,650/kg. Slightly lower than 0.85% from the position at the end of June.
The price of broiler eggs also fell. From July 16, 2021, the price will be IDR 25,450/kg. A decrease of 0.97% compared to the end of last month.
The price of pure-bred chicken has also fallen. On July 16, 2021, the price was IDR 33,200/kg, down 8.53% from the end of last month.
