The first day of Instagram Creator Week has revealed some new ways creators can make money on Instagram. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that Instagram is working on a native affiliate tool that creators can use to make money with product recommendation.
How will you implement Instagram affiliate links?
The way affiliate links work, whenever a creator recommends a product and shares an affiliate link with their audience, you get a reduction in revenue if the person buys the product. Many creators like to use affiliate links because they can generate revenue without too much effort. According to Zuckerberg, the native affiliation tool will exist on top of the products. The products will be available through Instagram Checkout. In addition, brands can set their commission rates. Therefore, creators will earn different income depending on the product and the brand.
All posts will display a “commission-eligible” tag, which indicates to a creator’s followers that they will receive a reduction in sales.
Market storefronts on Instagram profiles
In addition to the affiliate link tool, Zuckerberg revealed plans to deploy a merchandise showcase feature. According to the publish, creators can soon open storefronts on their Instagram profiles. They will also be able to add links to stores. Overall, it looks like a promising feature that will help many creators sell their products to their followers, making the merchandise available on the creators ’platforms.
When are these features published?
Instagram hopes to have tool ready in a few months. It is entering the testing phase, so there may be some changes before the tool is released. As for the merch showcase, we can expect to receive more updates on the feature sometime later this year.
