Pandemic It affects all of us in different ways, and its impact is profound in various economies and consumer habits. At Whites Park, we love local businesses and work hard to create useful free resources for small business owners and marketers Blog. We know that this has been a challenging year for you, your family and your business. Happy holidays to you and you!
Adjust your holiday sales strategy to adapt to COVID-19
According to the latest news from Google Consumer Trend Report, Half of American shoppers said that this pandemic will affect their way of shopping this holiday season. Shopping locally is more important than ever-but everyone is looking for a deal. Is there any small business to do? With this in mind, we have created a new holiday guide.
1. Have your sales Early
This year, 70% of shoppers said they plan to shop earlier to avoid crowds, while 80% plan to reduce the number of trips. More than a third of American shoppers who usually shop in stores on Black Friday say they will not shop this year. It is also important to remember that postal and delivery services usually exceed capacity during the holidays, and delays are expected due to additional precautions for COVID-19.
Since shoppers want to avoid crowds, plan for sales earlier this year to ensure that your customers really get the best deal from your business today. If you expect to reach the maximum amount of store content, queues or delivery delays, please communicate with shoppers to avoid negative reviews from Google to customers during this holiday period.
Share your early holiday sales activities with searchers through “Google My Business Events” or “Offers”.
2. Keep shoppers Informed Special time, service and health and safety measures
Due to COVID-19, new services such as roadside pickup or specific service hours may even be offered, so your business may take additional precautions.
This season, 53% of shoppers indicated that they would choose to shop in stores that offer contactless shopping, while 47% of shoppers indicated that they would use options such as curbside pickup, in-store pickup or online purchase.
To ensure a satisfactory customer experience, please let searchers know how you can provide a safe shopping experience and any new services during a certain period of time.
In the “Google My Business” dashboard, open the “Information” section and add all relevant attributes, including amenities, health and safety, and service options.
In the “Information” section, also add any special time (special time) or service specific time (more time).
3. Engage in Online with your customers
Have there been a lot of questions about inventory during the holidays? More inquiries are expected this year; 67% of shoppers said they plan to check online if they are in stock before shopping.
No one wants to make unnecessary trips. If the store’s inventory is visible on the website, please make sure it is up to date and has been published in the GMB’s “Products” function. If you don’t have inventory to add online, you can do the following 3 things:
- Add your service In the product function,
- Turn on information To allow customers to send their queries (remember to respond quickly so you don’t miss any sales),
- Use the “Questions and Answers” feature because companies will ask “Looking for a specific product?“, then answer your preferred contact information (Liz Linder on KickPoint)
Use product features to post your inventory or services to “Google My Business”. You can add photos, descriptions and prices for each item you add.
Don’t forget to keep your Q&A seasonal update.
Make your business discoverable online
You can expect more shoppers this season than in previous years. In order to prepare for the holiday shopping season, make sure to update your online profile with the latest information, including “Google My Business” listings, websites, social media profiles, and advertisements.
Nearly 75% of US shoppers planning to shop this quarter said they will shop more online before the holidays than in previous years, and similar figures indicate that they will browse gift ideas online rather than in stores. Google / Ipsos Research (2020).
